Vic Reeves Cat print

You will probably know Vic Reeves better as a comedian who along with Bob Mortimer hosts Shooting Stars, but he also paints and this Cat print from Eyestorm is one of a selection of new prints available featuring his trademark surreal style.

He has infact been an artist longer than a comedian having studied at Sir John Cass College in the 80s, and has produced a series of work for Eyestorm. This print is from an edition of 25 and is signed by Reeves. It is sized at 42 x 29.5cm and is priced at £250, and who could resist a cute cat like this?

Bloomsbury Urban Editions Auction

There are a lot of auctions coming up in the next few weeks and you just have time if you are quick to get your bids in for the Bloomsbury Urban Editions auction on 13 October.

Featuring work by artists including Banksy, Dan Baldwin, Shepard Fairey, and the print featured above by Antony Micallef. The estimates for a lot of the work seem quite reasonable so it might be chance to bag yourself a bargain.

The print featured here is 'Girl in Red Dress' by Micallef and is a lithograph signed in pencil and inscribed P.P 2/2. It is a rare printers proof aside from the edition of only 25 that was printed at Curwen Studios and published by Lazarides Gallery. It is sized at 82 x 70 cm and is estimated at £2000 - 2500.

The Souls prints by Damien Hirst

Another print on our wish list at the moment is one of the new series of prints by Damien Hirst entitled The Souls. Currently being exhibited at the Paul Stolper Gallery until the 13 November, and produced by Other Criteria and Paul Stolper we would love to own one.

They come in a vast array of colour ways, but this one is our particular favourite in Silver Gloss, Fuchsia Pink and Topaz. They are foil block prints and 15 are available in each colour scheme. They are sized at 72 x 51 cm and are signed and numbered. The downside is the price of £3525, which puts them out the reach for us mere mortals.

Kai & Sunny Return To The Wild at StolenSpace Galley

If you are looking for something to do this weekend why not visit the new exhibition Return To The Wild by design duo Kai and Sunny at the StolenSpace Gallery.

The show is a follow up to their What A Wonderful Word exhibition that took place in January 2009. This new exhibition continues to explore the feelings nature can project and features a range of limited edition screen prints including this beautiful Butterfly Effect - Blue screen print.

This is a hand pulled two colour screen print and is from a limited edition of 25, signed and numbered and sized at 75 x 55cm, and priced at a very reasonable £50. If you don't like the blue it also comes in a pink colour way.

The exhibition runs until 20 June so that gives you plenty of time to check it out.

Kate Allen Circus Chic

If the Bridget Riley screenprint we featured below is a bit out of your price range but you still hanker after a piece of Op Art for your wall why not take a look at Kate Allen's work. This piece Circus Chic has the same optical dazzle but at a fraction of the cost.

Allen's work uses layers of coloured spots to produce a movement of colour that plays with the viewer's eye as they are drawn across the intersecting patterns.

Circus Chic is an acrylic on canvas painting and is sized at 36 x 36 cm and is signed by the artist. This original piece is available for only £360.43 from Eyestorm which sounds like a bargain to me!
