Maurice Calka P.-D.G Desk

Maurice-calka-desk

We haven't featured that much furniture design here on Switched On Art, but after spotting this Maurice Calka P.-D.G desk in the Sotheby's 20th Century Design sale we thought it was time we did.

A bit out of the price range of most of us the estimate is £60,000-90,000, as it such a rare and iconic design. Designed in 1969 for Leleu-Deshays LDD, it is made of fibreglass and comes with integral adjustable upholstered swivel chair.

The estimate is so high because of the rarity of the piece, it is thought that only 4 or 5 P.-D.G desks were ever made and this design is previously unknown.

The sale takes place at 2pm on 28 April, so you still have chance to get your bid in.
