Chiho Aoshima Divine Gas print

Divine-gas
Chiho Aoshima's Divine Gas print depicts a giant girl lying in a lush landscape. The setting seems idyllic and serene-butterflies flutter, a deer nestles near her foot, a couple frolics hand-in-hand. Meanwhile, a billowing cloudscape, lorded over by a genie creature, emerges from her bottom.

This quirky print designed by the Tokyo born, largely self taught artist is typical of her dream-like scenes of supernatural worlds and their inhabitants.

Aoshima got her start as a computer technician in artist Takashi Murakami's Warhol-inspired art factory, KaiKai Kiki, where she still works supervising his design staff.

Produced in 2008, the offset print with silver, is from an edition of 300, and sized at 950 x 590 mm. It is available from the BALTIC shop for £495.

If this particular print by Chiho doesn't appeal they have further prints, Japanese Apricot, A Contented Skull, and The Fontain of the Skull, all available at the same price.
